Community Update: October 6, 2019

Dear Advanced Learning Academy Families,

Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8th students at ALA at Euclid will have their individual pictures taken. As a reminder, this will be a free dress day for our PK-3  students. Families may visit Lifetouch Photography to access a preview of picture packages available using the ALA specific Picture Day ID:  0Q100902YX .

On Thursday, October 10th at 6:30-8:30pm, the theatre department will be hosting a showcase and fundraiser to support their productions and upcoming trips to Houston and Dallas.   Here is a flyer for the Ramen Night dinner and showcase performances in the ALA theatre!  Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door only. Please contact, or if you have ANY questions.   

Friday, October 11th, marks the end of the first grading period of the year.  The following week, we will host our first nine-weeks Report Card Pick Up Night for 4th-12th grade from 5:30pm-7:30pm at ALA FT.  Our 7th grade students will also be exhibiting 

The Stories That Shape Us PBL from 5:00-6:30pm that evening. All families are invited to attend!

We will end the week at Chalk It Up, just around the corner from ALA FT. We’ll be creating an original piece on our own square of Main Street. Families are invited  see all the beautiful art, eat some tasty street food, and vote for our square!

Our 7th & 8th grade Academy League boys basketball coach, Deanna Schattel, asked me to share that  boys basketball begins this week. There will be a uniform distribution and parent meeting on Thursday, October 10th from 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm in Coach Schattel’s Science Room 102. The 8th grade team asked me to remind families that all final payments are due Tuesday, October 15, 2019.  The team is busy finalizing counts so final numbers need to be confirmed for all logistical planning.
