Dear Advanced Learning Academy Families,

After many weeks of preparation, Beauty and The Beast opens this Thursday, November 7th at 7:30pm with a cast and crew of over 90! Tickets remain on sale in the Fine Arts building lobby from 4:00 to 6:30pm, Monday-Friday this week only.  Our tickets are going fast, so please get them early! Additional show dates are Friday, November 8th and Saturday November 9th at 7:30pm, and there is a matinee on November 9th at 2:30pm.  Tickets are $10.00 per person. Ticket sales benefit theatre student travel, our upcoming UIL productions, and the Spring Show! Our directors would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for our ALA theatre community, their time, their donations, and their support; we are truly grateful.  Break a leg to this hard working and creative group of theatre artists, parents, and patrons!

Before the curtain rises, the 8th Grade teachers are hosting a final Civil Rights Trip Meeting from 5:30-6:30pm in the ALA cafeteria. This required meeting is the last one before the Monday, November 18th, departure.  If your family is unable to attend, please contact Eddie Rios, Assistant Principal, to schedule an alternate time to meet at the school to review trip information.

Also, our high school team is hosting a H-E-B Foundation Camp pre-trip meeting for 10th and 11th grade families on Thursday, November 7,  at 6:00pm in the ALA at Fox Tech library. At the meeting we will review the packing list, trip expectations, medication guidelines, and our final itinerary  for the November 20-22nd trip.

On Friday, the Euclid bike rodeo will take place! All students are welcome to participate. Bike drop off will begin at 7:30am while the event begins at 9:00am. On this morning, students may take their bikes to the gym and then return to breakfast or the playground. Please use duct tape and a sharpie pen to label your child’s bike with name, village, and grade. If you would like to volunteer or act as a judge, please email Jeremiah Birmingham at email

Finally, on Wednesday, November 13th, we are hosting a High School Soccer Informational Meeting for students and their families at 5:30pm in the ALA FT cafeteria.  The Fox Tech Campus (ALA, CAST Tech, and Health & Law) will be fielding  a boys and girls junior varsity team this season. You are invited to meet the coaches and learn more about the high school soccer program.
